We were so happy to have News 2 come out to do a story on an Army veteran of the first Gulf War, Carl Nowakowski as he rides in Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding’s Horses for Heroes program at CATR Farms. Carl was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000. He was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of getting on a horse. Thank you to Raymond Owens for such a wonderful report! NARHA’s Region 3 conference took place March 18-20 in Charlotte, NC. Instructors Anja Cain and Murray Neale presented a break-out session about Interactive Vaulting for the attendees with the help of three vaulting students Sasha Audier-Johnson, Ele Fish, and Juliette Cain. They were excited to use a horse provided by the hosting therapeutic riding program, Misty Meadows Mighty Riders. Anja Cain has been asked to join the Interactive Vaulting committee that oversees the standards for this specialty within the bounds of NARHA. We are so proud of Anja and Murray for sharing their knowledge of this program with Region 3 attendees.
